As well as telling a really good story, the author gives young adults insight into the lives of people living in the mountains of northern Afghanistan after 9/11. This is the story of a young girl’s journey to a refugee camp in Pakistan after the Taliban kidnaps her father and brother and American bombs kill her mother.
